Willy Wonka is an eccentric entrepreneur, owner a large candy manufacting company. He is the secondary protagonist of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Biography

Early life

Willy was born the son of the dentist Wilbur Wonka. His father made him wear ridiculous headgear and never allowed him to have any candy, even during Halloween, when he would throw it in the fireplace. This caused Willy, after tasting his first piece of chocolate, to grow obsessed and want to become a chocolatier. He ran away from home, only to return and find out that his father's building had vanished. He later achieved his dream and built his factory, but his painful past had caused him to hate parents and families altogether.

Career

He is the world's most famous and wonderful chocolatier. He owns the largest chocolate factory in the world, fifty times as big as any other. He also specializes in making other fantastic candy such as chocolate birds, never melting ice cream, everlingering chewing gum, candy balloons, strawberry-flavored chocolate-coated fudge, everlasting gobstoppers, hair toffee, three course meal chewing gum, and exploding candy.   

Role in the Film

Noticing that he is aging, Willy Wonka hides five golden tickets in five of his Wonka Bars for five lucky children to find. He bobtickets to find an heir, and that the child who was the "least rotten" would be the winner.
